living. learning. preparing.

Hey everybody! I work with a bunch of cool kids, and two of them are involved in Boy Scouts. I am going to be out of town next Monday (Oct. 20th) and am looking for someone to pick them up at 6:30pm and take them to their meeting and then back home again. Also on Oct. 25th is an all-day Field Day event (but I don't expect anyone to stay for all of it unless you want to) where parents and kids get to do all sorts of interesting/some-what dangerous things like learn to shoot arrows and B.B. guns and stuff like that. Please let me know if anyone is interested! It would be best if it is a guy, but also could be a girl. They are stuck with me right now, so anything is better than that! ;-)

Hey Jackley, I am an Eagle Scout myself. Too bad its on monday nights, hopefully one of the college kids or a non-forward person can do it.

That's really cool! Well, if you ever want to do any of the weekend camping trips and what not let me know! Might bring back good memories!

Where do they live, I might be able to help out.

They live in Arlington area on Atlantic Blvd. between Southside and Arlington Rd. It's not a real good area of town, but I have never had any problems out there. I am leaving town on Thursday afternoon, but if you can do it I will try to show you where they live and introduce you to the kids before then. Just let me know! :-)

Sorry, my dad told me he needs me on monday. I hope you can find somebody to help.

Thanks Nick, I realized that I will actually be back in town in time to take them on Monday night, so it will all work out. I hope you have fun helping your dad. I will probably need more help in the future though, so if it's ok with you I will let you know when I do!

I am glad to hear they can still go. I was in Boy Scouts for a long time and think that it is a great thing to be in as a growing boy. Yea let me know and I will try to help out as much as possible.

I am excited that you want to help! Congrats on being a Scout yourself! I have been impressed with the program so far. Would you be more interested in taking them to some of the meetings, or doing the events? Either is helpful, so just let me know what you want to do and I will keep you updated!

Hey Jackie, let me know if you need help with a weekend trip anytime in the future. Although I was never in Boy Scouts (did 4-H for 10 years) I am pretty familiar with all things outdoors and somewhat dangerous. As for the 25th if you could give me some more info I might be able to help out with that since I will still be on leave.

That would be awesome! But don't you live in Alabama? I would not want you to have to drive so far! The event is not mandatory, but it starts at 8am and goes till evening, but I don't think it is the type of thing they have to be at the whole time. If you are interested, that would be great, and I am sure the kids would love to hang out with you, but don't pressure yourself to make this one if you don't want to. Just let me know by Friday if possible.

Kels told me about rock climbing this past weekend. It sounded great! Yeah, you definately are qualified for all things outdoors/somewhat dangerous! Way to go for representing 4-H! I did some classes with them, but not that much.

Take care!

Thanks Lake! I hope you are doing well. I'm sure you would be a great teacher for the kids too! Do you remember Pierre? He is one of the boys that is in Scouts now. Where are you stationed now by the way?
