First of all great topic, I think we could probably hold an entire discussion on this. To start off I think that movies over glorify sex. There seems to be a theme amongst movies that it is only a good relationship if there is no sex. This idea besides not being true, leads to more than enough problems. I will stop here, but as I said I think we could hold a very good discussion on this.
Another one is "unnecessary" violence and vulgarity. Hollywood is brilliant in tapping the male barbaric testosterone, and made billions off of making movies that expose women, and provoke animal behavior.
I have to agree, I think Hollywood is more than capable of portraying things differently it is just that this seems to make money. The whole portrayal of men, I feel, gives this idea that all guys must be tough, drink beer and only think of women as objects. This reflects on how society is or maybe leads to it, that is hard to tell but, it is evident that media such as movies can impact and shape society with what it shows. These atributes that are given in modern film making are very far from how God has taught us to behave and I think we should start to steer movie content to contain that. I am not saying that as a Christian, but as a man who knows that those morals that are taught in the Bible lead to a happier more fulfilling life and should be practiced, if not all then in some ways, by all men.
