About Us

NAME
ACCESS218 comes from Ephesians 2:18: For through him [Jesus] we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. The verse before (2:17) explains that 'both' are two groups: those who have been doing the walk of faith for awhile, and those who are brand new to the concept of faith. ACCESS218 is a place where those who have been following Christ for more than a month and those who are still figuring the Jesus-thing out can come together as one community and meet God in Christ as one.

IDENTITY
ACCESS218 is a community of 18 to twentysomethings from across Northeast Florida. This community is made up of college students (from UNF, JU and other NEFl schools), young and post-college young professionals as well as singles, young military, young marrieds, high school seniors and even some older-somethings. We welcome young adults from all walks of life, perspectives and denominations.

PURPOSE
ACCESS218 seeks to inspire college students and young adults in Northeast Florida and beyond to become followers of Jesus Christ.

ASPIRATION
The vision of ACCESS218 is to see college students and young adults living today in God's reality, learning in community what it means to be a Christ-follower, and preparing to be leaders in the cause of Christ and His Church for the transformation of the world.

PATHWAY
The purpose is fulfilled and the aspiration becomes reality by encouraging college students and young adults to embrace the new life in Jesus Christ, commit to the new way of living as a Christ-follower, engage in the new community of believers (the Church) and live for the new cause which is the kingdom of God here on earth.

ASSOCIATION
ACCESS218 is also the college/young adult ministry of CrossRoad Church, the Northeast Florida collegiate ministry of Florida United Methodist Church, and a student club at the University of North Florida and as of the Fall 2008 semester, a campus ministry at Jacksonville University.


We are college students and young adults who want to find purpose, meaning, truth, freedom, hope and especially friends for the journey. We are finding all of that good stuff in Jesus Christ, the life He offers, and the movement He started. He is changing us from the inside out, and showing us how to bring hope and healing to the rest of the world. Wanna join us...there's always room for one more!
