The Wood Between The Worlds

So, I don't know how many of you know, but after Wesley Tour at JU Tuesday night, Jaymie and I were in a pretty bad accident. We're ok - just some bumps and bruises. My poor, beautiful truck was considered totaled. We were in our neighborhood, and a car ran a stop sign. Somehow, the truck was on its side for a while, but ended up back on the wheels, almost in the woods.

For a reason I have yet to determine, my mind has lately been returning to the topic of protesters "for God." You know the ones - they hold signs that say things like "TURN OR BURN!" and "GOD HATES FAGS!" And I guess what strikes me as odd is they claim to be doing these things in Jesus' name. They claim to be Christians who love God, saying that they are enlightening people and helping to turn them to the Truth of the Gospel.

And it breaks my heart.

I am a Christian.

I would define myself as a Christian. Ok, fine. But if the word "Christian" isn't defined, this can be a pretty open statement. And, (in)conveniently enough, developing a definition of Christianity can be difficult, since so many people have so many different ideas of what it really is. Ask 10 people what they think, and you'll get 10 different answers - tough getting clarification that way.
