Hey Paul! Bible Study will be starting tomorrow I sent out a message through the Forward Group with more details! Call me if you need more information 254-0864. Hope your doing well!
I saw (through Katie Ullmann's page) that you will be at Creekside. I basically have the same situation as Katie and would have been zoned for that school if I was still in high school. She probably already told you about Rick Fowler, so I'll just back her up in saying he's a great guy you should drop in and say "Hi" to. I stop in and have lunch with him from time to time - he's very down to earth and has never met a stranger. I know of a couple other folks at that school, but none on much of a personal level. Sorry I wasn't around this past week to welcome you to Access! I hope you enjoyed it and got to know some of the folks in our community.
That is absolutely incredible Paul!!! I do love Burma and the children/families I've gotten to work with over the past year from there. That is one of the biggest groups being resettled here in Jacksonville currently. That's awesome that you know him! Burma is very heavy on my heart currently. People are dying all the time for nothing at all. And a lot are dying because they are Christians... And it absolutely breaks my heart. I'd love to take a trip over there. And eventually I do plan to take a trip to the Thai-Burma border. It will probably take some time, but I can't wait to go over there! :)
Just depends on what you want to know. Some of my middle school teachers moved up and over. Two in particular I absolutely love as people and teachers. I've heard some horror stories from the kids end of Principal Abbatinozzi. I know his wife and son because his son played soccer with my brother and she was a dean of my middle school but not much about him. I just think he runs a tight ship and that a lot of the kids aren't used to it. All of the kids I believe are coming from the same middle school now so a lot of them have been together since they were in Kindergarten or early elementary. The Seniors of this year are almost returning seniors (there were no seniors at the school last year) but for the most part they are awesome kids. A few of them I have no doubt in my mind God is going to use them to move mountains and change the world as we know it. Since Fruit Cove Middle is now the feeder school of Creekside it's really interesting because it's basically all kids that live in JCP (Julington Creek Plantation) that will be attending the school. And there is still a sense of loyalty to BT since your seniors spent two years there before Creekside opened. And actually households were divided last year if they had a senior and someone else because all the seniors stayed at BT. It's cool though. Also, band wise Mr. Fowler is amazing and used to be the assistant band director at BT and still does a lot with the band director at BT. They actually played the National Anthem together at the game against each other last year :)! Oh and I didn't mention it and I'm not sure if you know this but BT opened at capacity 9 years ago so Creekside was the solution after BT was double capacity and had even built a new edition to the existing building for the freshmen. And yes this is probably not stuff you want to know. But it might be good to know some of it! :)
