Attention ladies: Homecoming, Prom, and weddings...

Hey everyone. I recently pondered what to do with my wedding dress (I'm sure nobody else wants it, and my kids will probably think it's hideous by the time they are old enough to get married...) I made a joke about "Trash the Dress" (meaning, getting a photo shoot of me rolling around in the mud or flinging paint all over myself in my (not cheap) wedding dress...) Greg Stritch (Captain Haiti Missionary Man) overheard and pleaded with me to not do it (which I had no intention of doing it anyway...) He said that nobody here could possibly imagine how valuable and important dresses are to the women in Haiti. After hearing that, I decided that they certainly needed my dress, and also called my parents in Ohio to send me all of my old Homecoming gowns, etc.

Ladies, even if you're not "that kind of girl" that loves to dress up, you can understand that making yourself a beautiful bride on your wedding day is going to be one of the most memorable feelings of your life. I had a blast on my wedding day, was blessed by so many friends, and yes, felt beautiful far beyond what can be felt in the natural world. There was a spiritual beauty felt, like Eve in the garden. I want to share that beauty with the women in Haiti. I want them to be able to feel that special on such a wonderful day of their lives.

Please consider giving away your old dresses to the women in Haiti. They have a seamstress there who will make them fit, and the pastor will give them a ring to wear. Help those beautiful women FEEL how beautiful it can be to come before God with pure intentions, and make a lifelong covenant with the love of their lives.

Let us be glad and rejoice,
and let us give honor to him.
For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb,
and his bride has prepared herself.
Rev. 19:7

I will be collecting the dresses and turning them in to Greg as I get them. If you want me to come pick them up, I can. Let me know if you would like to make the choice to help. Like the little black box in the back of Access, what is your part in these woman's lives?

Thanks,

Hey. I have a few prom dresses. I have two white ones that would be perfect to send them. I have to get a few of them back from my old place in Cali but as soon as I can i'll get a few to you. This is an awesome idea. I love it.

i think i can find some here at my house and I can see if my sister has any she wants to part with too, and the next time I am in Jax I will bring the with me. No point in hanging onto something that we can't wear again especially when it can bless someone else.
