A Time for Everything: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

The point in this passage (obviously) is that there is a time for everything. The question I raise is: how are we devoting our time? Are we using it wisely or do we get stuck on doing one thing and not leave time to do others. May I add there is a time to breath and a time to relax. Sometimes we just need to sit back and chill for a while, take a little Sabbath.
Personally, I feel like I overload my schedule a lot. It feels like there is just never enough time. The thing I really like about this passage though is that it kind of works with my mind in that it doesn't just say, "there is a time for everything." But instead, it lists out these individual things as if you can separate them, because--get this--YOU CAN. You have to separate them. There are times (probably for me too many) where we, as humans, just need to take time to laugh and maybe to dance.
In the end I think this passage puts a great perspective on life and as you go through the rough times, you can remember that as you are going through it, it is time for that, but there will be a time for that to stop and something better to begin.
