Do we have any soldiers in Access218?
So tonight's message for those of you who were not there based around Joshua Chapter 5.
This message was convicting in so many ways. Something that really stuck out was when Derrick talked about the three types of Christians according to some pastor who lives in Oklahoma (these are paraphrased):-the type of Christian who is happy about the benefits of being a Christian -the type of Christian who is willing to help in a comfortable situation -the type of Christian who is willing to dedicate their life to changing the world for Jesus.
The thing about it is, I know for me personally there are times when I get like Joshua and I just want to ask useless questions to avoid doing God's work. There are times when I act like the what I dub "the selfish Christian."
I guess what we really need to focus on as God's people is keeping our swords drawn. Being ready for opportunities to reach out to the people around us or whatever situation God creates for us.

I know God has recently been convicting me of some of the ways that I have been selfish and only willing to serve Him when it is comfortable too. I'm thankful to Derrick for bringing a message that was hard and challenging. Instead of scaring me off, it motivates me to press in deeper.
