Hi Kelsey - I am David's mom. I joined so I could watch the live web feeds for ACCESS on Tuesdays when David is in town and involved in them. :-)
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Hey, I know you said that the DR Congo is on your heart. I thought you might be interested in praying for an orphan child to pray for from over there. Warm Blankets has a few home and I know its not as hands on as somethings but you know prayer can do a lot! The homes are at this website if you are interested. http://homes.warmblankets.org/
I have at least one organization in Cambodia. Its Warm Blankets Orphan Care International. And I know they work with some other agencies. 2000 of the orphans in their houses got baptized in March. I had the opportunity to go but I didn't listen to God and didn't take it because I didn't trust. And God reminded me about it last night pretty hard core. And I'll definitely be looking into other things like it.
And it's nuts wat's happening in the Congo. The UN emails me almost daily about current devastating news that is happening there. I don't know if you know that that's where Chantel's family is originally from. I'm not sure if Chantel was born when they lived there because they have been to many countries. They were in Rwanda when all that happened so she was probably really young if she was alive when they lived there. It makes me sick thinking about everything that is happening over there. I understand what you mean by stuff messing you up. It's absolutely heartbreaking. I don't know too much about what is happening in the Congo besides the headlines of the UN's emails. And I really don't know effective ways to help in those types of situations. And it's actually something I'm really struggling with. It's one thing to know and make other people aware but I just don't think thats doing much of anything or really helping the people over there. So I'm right there with you on not knowing what to do about it but I agree it is something. And I guess for now prayer is the best way to approach it.
So I had a dream we are going to Cambodia next summer for a launch... You actually informed me we were going there and China. So I just wanted to let you know that my brain somehow picked out Cambodia as a good place to go on a launch. Is that at least a little less cliche?
